Goodfell
Age: 21
Gender: Male
Occupation: Music Producer/Radio Host, Owner of Trickster Beats
Class: Middle
Species: Shifter: Fox
Personality: Puck is a very charming, mischievous and intelligent young man. He loves life and has a very happy-go-lucky kind of attitude. He loves to have fun, meet people and hang out with friends. He loves to talk and talk to people about music and art, mostly music though. As he is a bit of a trickster, Puck also enjoys pranking people, making jokes and casual flirting. Amoung his friends and the various musicians, songwriters, technicians, and recording personnel; Puck is known for playing pranks on people during their birthdays and talking in a way that balances between friendly conversation and outright flirting.
On the flipside, Puck is very ambitious, independent (possibly rebellious) and straight-forward. He believes that freedom of self and the freedom to express who you are openly is very important. If asked what he hopes to accomplish with Trickster Beats, Puck would say ‘Simple. To become the most listened to radio station in Zootopia and to always provide a place where ‘off-beat’ musicians, songwriters and singers can perform their work and receive quality support and criticism.’ And he tries to do exactly that. He is always open to working with other artists and tries to give them as much support as he feels they need. However, if he thinks something is not working or if something sucks, he will says so. But he will also try to say ‘why’ he thinks so, something not everyone does.
Because Puck can be very frank and since he is such an independent person, this can cause trouble with authority and authority figures. He does not like being told what do or that he cannot do something. He does not care for those in power and does not submit easily. If asked to describe himself, Puck would just laugh and say “I’m off-beat.”
History: Puck is the youngest of five children and the only shifter amoung them. Both his parents are foxes and non-shifters however Puck’s maternal grandfather was a fox shifter as well. Because he was the only shifter in his immediate family, there were times when Puck felt out of place, even amoung his own family. He ended up developing a close relationship with his grandfather. Once a week, the family would go to visit his grandfather or he would come over for dinner.
On one such visit when Puck was 5 years old, he was playing hide and seek with his siblings in their grandfather’s house. He was trying to find a good hiding spot when he snuck into a room he had never been in before. There, in the center of the room was a very large grand piano. Curious, Puck carefully snuck in and hoisted himself onto the large piano bench and started at the keys for few minutes before carefully playing a few keys. As he gained confidence, he began experimenting more and was happily plunking away when his grandfather walked in and caught him in the act. Nervous, Puck watched as his grandfather smiled, walked over, sat down beside him and played what seemed to Puck to be the most beautiful music he had ever heard. For the rest of the visit, Puck sat by his grandfather at the piano and learned the basics of music, notation and piano scales. After that, it was decided that Puck would come over to his grandfather’s twice a week for music lessons. Under his grandfather’s tutelage, Puck learned to play piano, violin and guitar as well as how to write music. It is thanks to his grandfather that Puck developed such a strong love for music.
When Puck was 7 years old, he met someone who would change his life and would become his closet companion. Even as a young boy, Puck was a mischievous troublemaker who was constantly testing the boundaries. One fateful afternoon while his older siblings were babysitting him, Puck decided he was tired of playing in the backyard so he shifted and jumped the fence of their backyard. For a few moments, Puck felt truly free! Until he heard his siblings calling after him in a very annoyed tone. He quickly found a place to hide when he jumped the fence of someone else’s backyard where he found a another boy who was a bit younger than he was. After quickly assessing the younger boy, Puck shifted back to his human form and told the younger boy that he was hiding from monsters who would eat them if they found out where they were.
After Puck’s siblings moved on without discovering them, Puck introduced himself and discovered that the other boy was a shifter as well. They would have played together for the rest of the day if Puck’s siblings hadn’t knocked on the Wilson’s front door and found him. Still, Sunny and Puck grew to be close friends and would always be at each other’s side. When Puck found out that his new friend also enjoyed music, he introduced Sunny to his grandfather. Soon, Sunny was also taking music lessons from Puck’s grandfather and learned to play the drums and guitar. When they were younger, the two of them often claimed that they were going to form a band but this gradually changed as Puck discovered that he was more interested in the business of producing and recording music while Sunny realized that he was more interested in writing and composing music, especially electronic music. Still, they were always supportive of each other’s dreams and were never far apart.
Even with so much happiness, tragedy is never far away. When Puck was eleven years old, his grandfather developed lung cancer. For three years, Puck watched as his grandfather struggled and fought against the horrible disease. During this time, he did everything he could to help his grandfather by doing chores around the house, taking care of the lawn and cooking the occasional meal while his parents took care of his grandfather. During this time, Sunny would often come over to help his friend with the chores and always trying to help Puck stay positive, something that Puck has never forgotten. After a long and hard three year battle, Puck’s grandfather passed on. In his will, he left everything to his only daughter and her family as well as $5,000 dollars for each grandchild to be used for university or college. For Puck in particular, he left all of his musical equipment and instruments, including the grand piano which he recommended that Puck sell for further college money. Puck ended up giving Sunny a lot of the instruments like his grandfather’s drum set, bass guitar and his synthesizers as he knew that his friend would put them to good use. As for the rest, some of it Puck sold while other things were kept like the keyboards, violins, other guitar and music recording equipment. This equipment would later become the basis for Puck’s very own radio station and recording studio, it was just a matter of time.
When Puck was 16 and Sunny was 14, he had a chance to payback all the strength and support that his friend had given him during his grandfather’s illness. At 14, Sunny had realized that he wanted to be a musician, much to his parents’ disbelief and anger. During this time, Puck was always there to give encouragement as well as a chance to enjoy music without worrying about what his parents’ thought.
When Puck graduated at 17, he enrolled in Savannah School with for a double major in Business entrepreneurship and music production. He got a job working for the university radio station and quickly moved up the ranks due to his enthusiasm and interest in music. Halfway through his degree, Puck started making plans for opening and creating his own radio station and recording studio. Thanks to the money from his grandfather as well as small investment from his parents and after finally selling the grand piano, Puck was able to invest in a small studio, recording and radio equipment. Soon, Trickster Beats was open and producing as well as sharing music all over the radio waves of Zootopia. All that was left was to recruit his best friend to work alongside him.
When Sunny’s first semester of university was finished, Puck asked Sunny if he would like to come work as his Radio station/Recording studio; Trickster Beats and if he would be interested in becoming roommates as the two of them were still living at home. Sunny agreed to both offers and soon the two of them were living life on their own! Mostly anyways, their moms still take them grocery shopping every two weeks.
