It was an average Wednesday afternoon and Sunny was enjoying a caramel chocolate mocha while working on some homework for his university classes. As usual, he had his headphones on and was grooving along to the music as he worked on essays and spreadsheets for his business and management classes. Pretty soon, he was swaying in his seat and singing under his breath as he typed up his essay. Occasionally, the baristtas and cashiers would look over at him and smile at the happy canary-shifter, not that he noticed. He was too wrapped up in his work and music.

In a small table, with a teacup in her hand, was DaruDayu. She was having her own little day to herself when she came across this place and decided to get herself something to drink. She was happy to see there was tea available. Inside the cup with chamomile tea, which DaruDayu enjoyed very much. As she took a sip of her drink, she looked over to see a 'happy camper', swaying in his seat. The cat simply thought nothing of it, snickered softly and placed her focus back on the tea.

Still dancing and singing to himself, Sunny reached for his mocha as he tried to continue reading an article for class. It was about business methods and techniques in the music industry. It was actually a compelling article and he couldn't stop reading it. However, this meant that Sunny was not watching what he was doing and as he reached for his drink, his hand knocked over his pencils case and spilled dozens of pens and pencils on the floor thus breaking his concentration. Sunny jumped at the noise and looked down at the mess. "Crap." He said quietly to himself and got up out of his seat in order to pick up his various pens and pencils.

She gasped softly, covering her mouth. "Oh~!" She said, softly. Since she had nothing better to do, the cat placed her teacup down and got up from her seat. She dusted off her kimono and walked up to the canary, looking down at him. She had a friendly smile on her face as she kneeled down. "May I help you?" She asked.
She didn't even wait for his answer as he began picking up the pencils and pens. Each handful she picked up, she placed it back on the counter for him.

The voice seemed to come out of nowhere. Slightly startled, Sunny looked up and saw a young cat but a friendly looking one, looking down at him. He was surprised by her offer to help and he couldn't help but stand there for a moment as she bent down anyways and began helping him even before he could give an answer.
"Uh, sure. I guess. Thank you." He gave the girl a small smile, once he had recovered his manners. He quickly flew up to the table and began putting the picked up pens and pencils back into his pencil case. Once they were finished, Sunny looked at the young cat who had helped him. "Thanks for your help. I'm Sunny by the way." He said with a smile. "Would it...be alright if I got you a coffee or tea or something as a way of saying thank you?" He asked, somewhat awkwardly.

She didn't really notice him staring as she was more focused on getting all of his cleaned up. Once they were finished, she dusted herself off and fixed her hair. "DaruDayu, pleasure." She replied, introducing herself. She giggled at his offer. She has been offered stuff before, of course, being a music star and all. However, it was still so cute when they would be all shy, nervous, or awkward when asking her. "That won't be necessary. I already have some tea. I appreciate the offer, anyway." She answered.

Sunny shrugged and smiled when DaruDayu politely refused his offer. "No problem." His parents had taught him that it was important to show your gratitude when people helped you and to always offer some form of compensation, whether they accepted to not was up to the receiver. Sitting on the edge of his pencil case, Sunny swung his feet back and forth with contentment.
"Well, if I can't get you anything, would you at least like to join me?" He asked and gestured to the empty seat across from him. "Do you come here often?" He asked, hoping to open up a conversation.

She simply smiled at his offer and nodded. "But, of course." She replied, sliding on to the seat across from him. She dusted the skirt of her kimono softly before speaking. "Not as often as I would like too." She answered. "Whenever I'm in the neighborhood, I come in for a cup of tea." She added. "I suspect you come quite often, am i right?" She asked.

"Cool!" Sunny said brightly as DaruDayu sat down. It was always nice to meet new people and make a potential friend. Sunny nodded as the young cat explained how she wished she could come by more often. It was a rather nice cafe and the drinks were quite good. "Fairly often. Often enough anyways for the baristas to know what I'm going to order even before I do." The cheerful canary said with a laugh. "It's very close to my university and my apartment so it's quite convenient. It's a nice place to come study when I need a break from the library or my roommate is being a bit loud." Sunny said honestly with a slight shrug of his shoulders.
