Duchess raised her eyebrows. Did he really just put her on hold to study a book? "Yeah sure go ahead" she said as she shrugged it off. She studied her legs as she hoped she wouldnt get too much bruises. When she looked up he was gone. "Huh..? What the..?" she looked around her. Where did he go?

The book he was studying fell flat on the table and he crawled over it, allowing her to see his mouse form. He always did this to check for damage to the book, being smaller allowed him to check more closely. Gowther got a closer look at the rip and he was furious! He shifted back into human form and began to rant, partially forgetting that Duchess was there "Damn it! Is it really that hard to return a book in the same condition it was in before!" When that little brat who checked out the book came back he was going to pitch a fit!

The soft sound of a falling book got her attention as she looked up. "Oh my" she said softly as she saw him in his animal form. A mouse. Ofcourse he was a mouse. Thats why they were so different. If she took him out to get a drink he would be wasted in no time due to his size. She got up. She was surprized she could still walk. She noticed how her leg was hurting a lot now that she was standing on it. " whats wrong? " she asked as she clearly didnt saw anything wrong with the book

Gowther held the book up and pointed to the rip "Right there. Ugh!" He slammed the book shut "It wouldn't kill people to be more careful with them." He noticed her get up "Are you sure you're okay enough to walk?"

Duchess looked at the book. Maybe he was a bit over reacting. Then again, if someone would do that to her sheetmusic she would most likely be angry as well. Especially since they were from her mother. She looked up to him. "Oh. Ehm yeah im okay" she said as she leaned on the couch a bit. She hoped it wasnt too obvious her leg was hurting. How the hell did she hurt it.

"If you are okay, which I am doubting, will you be leaving?" Gowther asked, cleaning his glasses on his shirt. While they were very different, it was nice to have someone to talk to.

Duchess sighed. " fine maybe it hurts a tiny little bit but im a big girl i can handle that." she said. She was used to worse. She looked at him. "Do you eh.. Want me to go..?" she asked as she wasnt sure.

Duchess usually wasnt someone to take advice from others but maybe he was right. She sighed and sat down on the couch again. "Well i must say. Youre brave letting your natural enemy into your home"

"I suppose you're a cat, am I right?" He put his glasses back on "Even hearing that, I'm not afraid of you, I doubt you would hurt me." He relaxed into his recliner again, knowing that with a guest, he wasn't going to be getting any work done.

Duchess chuckled and looked at him. "That should explain why you and i are so different" she said with a small smile. "Yes im a cat shifter" she admitted. "And i promise i wont bite" she added in a joking way

Duchess looked at him with a small smile. "Thank you. Really" she said. The wild cat started to calm down a little. Maybe it was because of the smell of the
books. Maybe it was because this place was a lot calmer then her flat.
